Cuddington Fete 2026: Celebrating Wildlife

Saturday 11th July, 2026

The village fete returns this summer, and this year we are throwing the gates open in honour of the natural world. Our theme is Celebrating Wildlife, marking 100 years of David Attenborough, the man who has spent a lifetime bringing the wonders of the planet into our living rooms. Expect a day full of colour, character and a fair few creatures.

Proceedings begin with the parade, setting off from Lower Green at 12:30pm. We are inviting everyone to join in with wildlife-themed fancy dress, so whether you fancy coming as a tiger, a tree frog, a peacock or something rather more inventive, you will be in good company. The fete itself runs from 1pm to 4pm.

There is plenty to keep all ages busy across the afternoon. Highlights include animal encounters, pony rides, a BBQ and bar, live music, a bouncy castle and a set of brand new games, with much more besides.

And there are prizes to be won. Try your luck on the raffle, take on the brand new games leaderboard, and see if your fancy dress can carry off the parade. Fantastic prizes are up for grabs throughout the day.

A few practical notes for the day. Parking is available at the CPFA Recreation Grounds on Bernard Close. The fete is cash only, though tokens for selected stalls can be bought by card at the Info Point, so it is worth bringing a little of both.

Final call for donations

The fete only works because of the generosity of the village, and we are making a final call for donations ahead of the day. If you can help, here is where to drop things off:

Plants, pots and tools - Lower Farm Barn, Frog Lane
Teddies and soft toys - 4 Swan Hill, 7 Swan Hill, or Denise's
Books (fiction only) - the porch of Sorrell House, HP18 0AG
Wine, spirits and cordial (unopened and in date) - The Old Post, next to Bernard Hall
Cakes and biscuits - Tyringham Hall, on the morning of the fete

Every donation, large or small, helps make the day what it is. Thank you in advance to everyone who pitches in.

We look forward to seeing you on the green on the 11th. Bring the family, bring your best animal costume, and let us celebrate the wild together.
